G. Jack Denton August 10, 1923 September 14, 2017 Bailey...........G. Jack Denton, age 94, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lee and Nannie B. Denton; son, Melvin Ray Denton; daughter-in-law, Linda M. Denton; brother, Warren Denton; sisters, Dorothy Winstead and Mercita Brantley. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Bailey Town Cemetery with the Rev. Phillip Hawley officiating. He is survived by his wife, Cora Dell Strickland Denton of the home; sons, Carl G. Denton of Bailey, James S. Denton and wife, Robin, of Bailey; sister, Laura Stott of Bailey; grandchildren, Carla Howell and husband, Greg, Kevin Denton and wife, Shannon; great-grandchildren, Grayson Howell, Ashlyn Hendricks and Hailey Denton.
