Dennis Mervin “Butch” Bailey

August 12, 1948 – January 29, 2024

                         Bailey….Dennis Mervin “Butch” Bailey, age 75, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024.

                         He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Nancy Lamm Bailey; brothers, David, Shorty, and Terry Joe, and his beloved best friend, Junior.

                         He is survived by his sons, Robert “Cokey” Bailey, Scott Bailey, both of Bailey; sisters, Esther Bailey, Nancy Pate (Robin), both of Bailey; brothers, Johnny Bailey, Kenneth Bailey, Larry Bailey (Sandra), Milton Bailey (Gail), William Bailey, Thomas Bailey, and Carlton Bailey all of Bailey; grandchildren, Alex Bailey of Bailey, and Jose Bailey (Addison) of Alexandria, VA; the mother of his children, Shirley Joyner.

                         A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Shingleton Funeral Home from 6:00PM until 8:00PM.

                         Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Bailey Town Cemetery at 2:00PM with the Rev. Larry Braswell officiating.
