Elm City.........Carolyn Jean Owens Thompkins, age 74, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Owens, Sr. and Mae Belle Owens and sister, Barbara Finger. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Shingleton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Coggin officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. She is survived by her companion, Lawrence Eddy of the home; daughters, Tammy Howard of Sharpsburg, Milisa Owens (Quentin) of Rocky Mount; sons, Ricky Weiand (Lisa) of Elm City, Danny Wilson (Barbara Dantonio) of Goldsboro, Jerry Wilson (Janine) of Lumberton; brothers, Carl Owens, Jr. of Shallotte, Tommy Owens of St. Pauls, Bobby McLemore (Barbara) of Eastover; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, August 15, 2017 from 6:30 until 8:30 at Shingleton Funeral Home.
