Clayton Scoville Saunders December 21, 1923 August 16, 2016 Wilson..................Clayton Scoville Saunders, age 92, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Lamm Saunders. He was a World War II veteran who loved his country, the American flag and was proud to have served. Graveside services will be conducted at Evergreen Memorial Park on Thursday, August 18 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Reuben Caison officiating. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Jordan of Goldsboro, Judy Maples of Columbia, SC; son, Kirby Clayton Saunders of Wilson, also a military veteran; twin brother, Carl Saunders of Sandston, VA, who served with his brother in World War II and brother, O'neal Saunders of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Katie, Shannon and Clayton.
