Lucille Garner Strickland Alford July 25, 1913 October 29, 2014 Lucille Garner Strickland Alford, 101, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. She was predeceased by her first husband and father of her three sons- William Harvey Strickland in 1969; her husband Wilburn Alford in 1984 and her son William Deuard Strickland in 2011. Lucille was a dedicated Christian, wife, mother and grandmother. Funeral services will be conducted at Elm City Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Richard Walker and Rev. Gene Wells officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Survivors include her sons, Harvey Eldon Strickland (Georgia); Milo Dean Strickland (Betty); daughter-in-law, Mozelle Strickland;granddaughters, Sandy Wagner (Bryan) of Colorado; Lisa Strickland Stanley (Donnie) of Four Oaks; Susan Strickland Reed (Eric)of Ft. Mill, SC; grandsons Michael Quinton Strickland (Denise) of Four Oaks; William Strickland-Long (Donald) of Selma; Tommy Strickland (Tara) of Elm City; Nick Rogers (Becki) of South Carolina and Chris Rogers (Chrystel) of South Carolina; great grandchildren, Alyssa Stanley; Sarah J. Reed; Daniel and Michelle Wagner, Harrison Finley, Christian Harrison, Jon and Chase Montgomery, Thorne, Tanner and Tabitha Strickland, Clayton Rogers (Lisa), Denver Rogers (Alicia), Shelsea Brennan (Erek), Cassidy and Chase Rogers; and great-great grandchildren, Kylie, Keira and Khloe Brennan; Andrew Montgomery; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Mrs. Alford was a lifetime member of Elm City Missionary Baptist Church, where she actively served in the capacities of Sunday School teacher, GA leader, WMU Director and many committees.
