Norwood R. Whitfield May 15, 1927 November 02, 2017 Wilson..............Norwood R. Whitfield, age 90, passed away Thursday, November 02, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Whitfield and Betty Pittman Whitfield; sister, Hazel Evans and brother, Carlton Whitfield. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Shingleton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Herring officiating. Committal services will be conducted Monday, November 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 69 1/2 years, Gladys Lucas Whitfield of the home; daughters, Hilda Petty (Jimmy) of Morehead City, Sandra White of Wilson, Gail Sexton (Coy) of Wilson; sisters, Jean Rollins (Jack) of Raleigh, Susie Sauls of Belfast; brother, Bobby Whitfield (Sue) of Kenly; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
