William W. ï¿Â½Billï¿Â½ Bridgers, Jr. January 29, 1947 March 8, 2015 Elm City... William W. ï¿Â½Billï¿Â½ Bridgers, Jr., age 68, of 7544 Bakertown Rd., Elm City, passed away Sunday evening, March 8, 2015. Bill was a long-time employee of Branch Bank and Trust Company in Wilson. Bill above all, loved the gamecock culture and hunting as long as he was physically able. He was more than well-informed on world and U.S. history and politics and liked nothing better than opining on all politicians and officials that did not meet his definition of service to the people of North Carolina and the United States. He was very proud of his service to the nation in Vietnam as a member of the U.S. Army. Bill was a family ï¿Â½storytellerï¿Â½ extraordinaire and always took center stage at family social gatherings if he could wrest same from his sister, Betty. All outstanding debts for heating, air-conditioning services provided Bill over the years and not yet paid for are here by officially cancelled. He was preceded in death by his parents, William W. Bridgers and Selma Baker Bridgers and very special aunt and uncle Dell and William Greene. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Shingleton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 at Shingleton Funeral Home. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Yvonne and four children, Keith Bridgers (Sandra) of Selma, Todd Bridgers of Wilson, Lisa Bridgers of Elm City and Amanda Bridgers of Elm City; dear to his heart were grandchildren, Matthew, Tommy, Amy, Catherine, Hayden, Kyler, Gracie, Abby and Emma. He is also survived by his brother, Freddy of Elm City and Betty of Los Angeles, CA. Also dear to his heart are his ï¿Â½Greeneï¿Â½ cousins, Montress, Martha Dawn, Dickie, Nancy, Cindy and Beth.
