Bessie Mae Winstead
September 28, 1937 – August 14, 2021
Wilson….Bessie Mae Winstead, a faithful member of Thompson Chapel Church of Wilson, was called home to be in the presence of her lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The impact she had on the world and those who loved her will not soon be forgotten. She was a kind soul with a heart bigger than the world is wide, for these reasons and many more. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Robert Pridgen and Amanda Mae Batchelor Pridgen of Wilson; husbands, Leslie Hugh Taylor and Sam Talmage Winstead; daughter, Brenda Winstead Finn sons, Leslie Hugh Taylor Jr., Robert Franklin Taylor and Sam T. Winstead Jr.; grandson, Bobby Jacob Taylor; great-grandson, Jesse Taylor; sister, Betty Ruth Kyles.
She is survived by her daughters, Ruby Faye Taylor Baker and husband, Donnie Baker of Rocky Mount, Betty Sue Taylor McKeel and husband, William McKeel of Elm City, Teresa Winstead of Wilson; daughter-in-law’s, Jeni Shafer Winstead and Steve Singer of Wilson, and Temesia Quinlin and husband, Charlie of Elm City; sons, Bobby Hugh Taylor and Tony Kyles both of Bailey; brother, James (Sambo) Robert Pridgen Jr.; grandchildren, Randall Baker, Angie Baker, Amanda Shawn Blackmer and husband Micheal Blackmer, Will McKeel and wife Jena, Ashley McKeel, Jessie Taylor, Kristen Winstead, Kellie Winstead and Blake Mozingo, Justin Winstead, David Bowen, Darla Blackwell and husband Reggie Blackwell, Desiree Williams and husband, Steve Williams, Robbie Taylor and wife Melaine Taylor, Leslie Taylor, April Winstead, Melissa Ochoa, Linda Pena; twenty two great grandchildren, seven great-greatgrandchildren, five great-great-greatgrandchildren; special cousin, Anne Mosley.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
