Betty Barnes Lewis

January 16, 1942 – February 21, 2023

                         Betty Barnes Lewis, 81, passed away February 21, 2023. She was born January 16, 1942 to the late David and Dorothy Barnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “ Bobby” Lewis, brother William L. Barnes and grandson Brandon David Lewis.

                         She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Jesse Lewis (Lisa) of Nashville and Brian Lewis of the home; granddaughter, Melissa Fluellen (Kenny), sister, Ann Hill; sister-in-law’s, Jennifer Barnes and Ann Mosely; many nieces and nephews and special friends Pat and Bill Lee, Pam, Lynn and Deborah Bass, Trey and Ashley Evans.

                         Betty enjoyed a long career as a registered nurse at North Carolina Special Care Center where she retired. She was a member of Highland Independent Church.

                         A visitation with friends and family will be held Thursday, February 23rd   from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shingleton Funeral Home.

                         Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 24th at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Shingleton Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Stallings officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen memorial Park with the Rev. Tommy Hagan officiating. 

                         The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the care given by Hospice of Wilson.

                          Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be given to Highland Independent Church, 2006 Patterson Way, Wilson
