Billie Gibbs Dew
November 30, 1942 – February 24, 2023
Clemmons….Billie Gibbs Dew, age 80, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023.
Billie loved her husband, “Dick” and enjoyed their life together on Topsail Island. They never tired of the bounty of seafood Dick caught, long walks on the beach in search of shells, or a beautiful fall day sitting together on the beach. They spent many happy days with family. Billie greeted each of her grandchildren`s visits with red velvet cake. She was witty, an excellent cook and enjoyed crafting dozens of beautiful baskets. She was a help to many elderly friends on the island.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon McCoy Dew; parents, Tommy Gibbs and Murrah Jones; son, Darin Dew.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Starnes of Clemmons, NC; grandchildren, Caroline Starnes Bulluck (William) and, Mary Frances Starnes both of Charlotte; great-grandchild, Henley Bullock.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Bailey Town Cemetery with Dr. Jody C. Wright officiating.
