Cathy Aycock Jones

Cathy Aycock Jones, 57, went to be with her Lord on Friday, January 29, 2016. Cathy was born on November 2, 1957 in Johnston County to the late Ralph and Juanita Aycock. A service celebrating the life of Cathy will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Kenly with Steve Morris officiating. Cathy is survived by her husband, Donnie Jones of Kenly; sons, Joshua Jones of Raleigh NC, Jonathan Jones of Wilson NC, Andrew Jones and wife Tiffany of Kenly, NC, and Zachary Jones of Kenly NC; grandson Tyrsson Jones of Kenly NC; brother Jerry Aycock and wife Linda of Marion NC, and Bobby Aycock and wife Patricia of Chantilly VA. Cathy loved her family dearly. Even through her sickness, she graciously cared for others. Cathy was known to always have words of wisdom and was often sought for advice on many topics. She willingly shared her knowledge and faith with everyone she met. Cathy was instrumental in establishing a homeschool community in Johnston County where she mentored and inspired hundreds. As she battled cancer, she re-ignited her passion for painting and personalized them for those she loved. Cathy's legacy will live on through those who were privileged to know and love her.
