                         Elaine Stott Cooke, 95, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021.

 She was born on August 9, 1925 to Dempsey T. and Hattie Davis Stott and raised on a farm in Sims, North Carolina. After graduating from Rock Ridge High School in 1942, she began a lifelong career in financial services. Elaine married Bruce Cooke in 1953 and they enjoyed living in Murfreesboro, North Carolina and weekends at Salter Path for many years. After retirement, they moved back to Bruce`s hometown of Nashville, North Carolina for 15 years and later moved to The Landing in Wilson, making many friends along the way.

                         In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Bruce Lee Cooke and her brothers, William “Bill” Stott and James “Tommy” Stott.

 She is survived by her special cousin Jimmy Flowers; nieces, Margaret C. Jackson, Nancy C. McGuire, Mary Ann C. Lassiter (Jim), Debbie C. Woodcock (Victor), Nora C. O`Bryne (Bill);and nephews Kermit Cooke, Cy Cooke (Peggy), Larry Cooke (Sandra), Johnny Cooke (Mickey), Ronald Cooke (Kathy), Tommy Cooke, and Steve Bass (Anita).

                         A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Charles Robl officiating.

As Elaine`s heart never left Sims, In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sims United Methodist Church, 6601 Wall Street, Sims, NC. Due to Covid restrictions, masks are requested.
