James A Williams

Wilson…………………………. James A. Williams, age 85, died Tuesday, November 7, 2023. 

                                    A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 12 at 2:00 P.M. at Hornes Methodist Church by Rev. John Check.  The family will receive friends thirty minutes before and after the service.                       

                                    Mr. Williams was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as a military policeman. He was a faithful member of Hornes Methodist Church. 

                                    James was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Sadie Williams and a sister, Dorothy Ann Winstead. 

                                    He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Gladys Harris Williams of the home; daughter, Vicky Williams Deans and husband, James of Wilson; son, Jeff Williams and wife, Lynn of Wilson; brother, Bobby Ray Williams and wife, Brenda of Wilson; sister, Connie Cooke Duryea and husband, John of Maryland; two grandchildren, Traci Marie Deans and husband, Ian and Jamie Deans Bass and husband, Alex; and great grandchildren, Emma, Jackson, Charlotte and one due to arrive in December. 

                                    The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to Annette and their friends at Western Sizzlin who gathered every Friday night and became “family”.

                                    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hornes Methodist Church; 145 West Hornes Church Road, Wilson, NC, 27896.
