                                 Janice Greene Proctor, 87, passed away on March 02, 2023.

                                 She was preceded in death by her husband, Elisha Proctor; parents, Russell Barnes Green and Dell Cummings Weaver; grandmother, Mattie Pender; son, Russell Carlton Proctor; and sister, Susanne Weaver.

                                 She is survived by her daughters, Mary Dell Williamson (Russell), and Lou Ann Proctor; son, Thomas Bruce Proctor (Angie); sisters, Lucy Jo Weaver, Rebecca Lewis and Debbie Joyner; brothers, Joseph Weaver and Richard Green; grandchildren, Lauren Nicholson, Lane Proctor, Landin Proctor, Matthew Williamson, Bradley Williamson, Maryssa Worley, Madelyn Proctor, Eli Zenzel, Michael Zenzel, Anna Zenzel; great-grandchildren, Carson Proctor, Colton Proctor, Weston Proctor, and Afton Williamson.

                                 Janice Proctor was born in Wilson County on July 9, 1935 and grew up on the family farm. She attended the Medical College of Virginia where she obtained her BS in Nursing and was one of the first BSNs in North Carolina. She went on to be charge nurse at Edgecombe General Hospital and later headed the Same Day Surgery Department. She was nominated and received the prestigious honor of “The Great 100 Nurses” in NC.

                                 Janice Proctor was the heart of our family. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends on trips to the beach, mountains, and many other destinations. One of her greatest joys was celebrating the good times at family gatherings and going to ballgames to see her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted member of Good News Advent Christian Church and loved her church family.

                                 Visitation will be held Sunday, March 5th from 2:00 - 3:15 p.m. at Good News Advent Christian Church at 6990 Good News Church Road Stantonsburg, NC. Funeral service will follow at 3:30 also at the church. The Reverend Thomas Ellis will officiate with a private graveside service immediately following.
