Bailey... John Redmond Glover, age 88, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, July 25, 2015. He leaves behind his loving wife of 68 years, Janice Leigh Bunn Glover. A native of Nash County, he was the son of the late A. F. and Hattie Glover. He was preceded in death by grandson, Larry Steven Finch; daughter, Bonnie Jo Glover Webb; and brother, Sammy Glover. John was a long-time farmer, egg producer, an avid golfer and bee keeper. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army and served in Germany. He was a member of the VFW Post 4147 and American Legion. He was one of the founders of the Mt. Pleasant Rescue Squad and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Ruritan Club. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, at Shingleton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phil Hawley officiating. Interment will follow in Bailey Town Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Janice Bunn Glover, of the home; children, Barbara Finch (Larry) of Bailey, Carl Glover of Bailey, Beverly Turner of North Myrtle Beach, Jenny Breedlove of Bailey; sisters, Evelyn Etheridge of Florida, Betty Anderson (Al) of Fuquay-Varina, Janet Flood of Bailey, Vivian Williams of Wilson; brothers, Tommy Glover (Ann) of Clinton, Julian Glover (Sandy) of Bailey; grandchildren, Tammy Webb, Angie Stallings, Carolyn Ellis (Wayne), Richard Glover (Mindy), Michelle Aycock (Travis), Ashley Breedlove, Megan Daman; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews.
