Joyce Grey (Woodard) Hopkins

 Elm City….Joyce Hopkins, age 89, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023.

                         She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Hopkins; parents, Joseph Gibson Woodard and Nettie Bailey; son Kimmie Gibbs Hopkins

                         She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Hackney (Doug) of Wilson; son, Mitch Hopkins (Kimberly) of Elm City, sister Verlia Hocutt (Luby) of Sims; brothers, Joseph Woodard (Arlene) of Kenly, Wallace Woodard (Louise) of Wilson,  and Doug Woodard (Christine) of Elm City; grandchildren, Nikki Case (Casey), Suzanne LaRoque (Eric), Blair Childress (Randall), and Jordan Johnson (Jon); great-grandchildren, Ava Grey and Jane Johnson.

                         A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Shingleton Funeral Home.

                         Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 11:00 am at Maplewood Cemetery
