Elm City – Lena Christine Evans Coley, age 85, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Born in Wayne County, NC on October 7, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Willie Lee Evans and Fettie Lena Lucas Evans. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Coley, Sr.; daughter, Deborah Lynn Coley Johnson; sister, Edna Howard; brothers, Floyd Evans, Leroy Evans, and Pete Evans.

Lena is survived by her sons; Donald Albert Coley, Jr. (Diane) of Middlesex, Danny Lee Coley of Elm City, Ronald Wayne Coley of Elm City; grandchildren, April Crocker, Crystal Gendron, Tracey Johnson, Mathew Johnson, Cameron Johnson, Caleb Johnson; ten great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Monday, June 24, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Shingleton Funeral Home, 2413 Nash Street NW, Wilson, NC 27894. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Stantonsburg Town Cemetery, 306 Wooten Avenue, Stantonsburg, NC 27883.
