September 24, 1923 – May 16, 2021

                        Bailey…. Maggie Thompson, age 97, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021.

                        Maggie was born and raised in Sims, NC, and graduated from Rock Ridge High School. She served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946. She was married for sixty seven years to William Gordon Thompson. She raised three daughters and helped raise her four grandchildren who she loved to spend time with. She loved to grow flowers of many kinds, keep up with the farming world and cooking good meals for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many. She will be greatly missed by her family and all that had the honor to know her.

                         Visitation will be Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Shingleton Funeral Home.

                         A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. in Evergreen Memorial Park with the Pastor Darrel Bowles officiating.

                         She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Bessie L. Narron; husband, William G. Thompson; two sisters and two brothers.

                         She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ruth Thompson and, Steven Shipp of Gastonia, Jo Ann Thompson Glover (Randy) of Bailey, Patricia Thompson and, Ray Evans of Bailey; grandchildren, Matthew Glover, Andrew Glover (Brandi), Ashley Brantley (Daniel), and Anna Glover; great-grandchild, William Glover.
