                         Elm City….Mendy Diane Faires Lucas, age 58, passed away Monday, April 03, 2023.

                         She was preceded in death by her son, James Timothy Faires; mother, Esther Morris.

                         She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Dennis Lucas of the home; step-daughter, Kelly Lewis (Ryan) of Pine Level, Jennifer Mincey (George) of Knightdale; step-son, Steven Lucas of Atlanta, GA; sister, Sandra Strickland (Kenneth) of Bailey; brother, Ricky Morris of Wilson; grandchild, Brayden Faires; eleven step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

                          A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Shingleton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Shingleton Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Hawley officiating, Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
