Rachel Whitley Sledge

June 11, 1927 – March 22, 2023

                         Louisburg….Rachel Whitley Sledge, age 95, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 with her family by her side.

                         She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Cleveland Sledge, Sr.; parents, Benny Clifton and Anna Edwards Whitley; sisters, Bertie Mae Cone and Bessie Perry; brother, William Jack Whitley.

                         She is survived by her daughters, Peggy S. Alford (Jimmie), Judy S. Gaskins (Bill), and Patricia S. Ford (Dan); son, Charlie C. Sledge, Jr. (Judy); eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

                         A visitation will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Spring Hope from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Holly Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
