Richard Allen Barnett September 29, 1956 February 27, 2020 Elm City......Richard "Ricky" Barnett, age 63, passed away, Thursday February 27, 2020. Visitation will be Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Shingleton Funeral Home and other times at the home of Melissa Butts. Funeral Service will be Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Rex Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Barnett Family Cemetery. He is survived by his mother, Sadie Frances Barnett of Wilson; daughters, Marsha Barnett (Travis) of Wilson, Melissa Butts (Stephen) of Wilson; sisters, Evelyn Honse of Wilson, Jean Wallace (Gene) of Macclesfield, Julie Green of Wilson, Ruby Little (Larkin) of Bath; brother, Joseph Barnett (Kim) of Elm City; grandchildren, Kayla Hart, Ryan Hart, Brett Hart, and Piper Butts, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Barnett; daughter, Cynthia Lynn Barnett, brother; Rufus Danny Barnett, paternal grandparents; Richard and Carrie Barnett, maternal grandparents R.B. and Sadie Hathaway.
