William Elwood Harrell

Elm City….William Elwood Harrell, age 90, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021.
Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and dearest friend. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, served in Korea. He farmed most of his life and served as a volunteer fireman with Bakertown VFD for thirty years. He served his church and community faithfully.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 25, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. at Shingleton Funeral Home with the Rev. Carroll Bradbury officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 6:45 P.M. Interment will be Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Macclesfield Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Anna Harrell; wife, Sandra Baker Harrell; brothers, Rudolph Harrell and Amos Harrell Jr
He is survived by his daughter, Amy Hobgood (Frankie) of Elm City; son, Marty Harrell (Cathy Stott) of Elm City; sister, Mary Ann Baker (Alvis) of Macclesfield; dearest friend, Carol Webb of Elm City; grandchildren, Leah Hobgood (Noah Estes) of Elm City, Parker Hobgood of Elm City, Crystal Hicks (Chris) of Wilson, Zachary Harrell of Elm City; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Ashlyn and his furry grand-dog Maddie
