William “Tom” Thomas Jenkins II
August 14, 1956 – August 15, 2024
William “Tom” Thomas Jenkins II was born to the late Joseph Jarvis Jenkins and Rose Sugg Jenkins (Lane) in Greene County, NC. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the age of sixty eight.
Tom worked as a residential/commercial painter for most of his life. Many sought out to complete painting projects. He enjoyed music of all genres and listened to some of his favorite tunes with his brother, Steven, and while he worked with his longtime friend, Curtis Lucas, Sr. He enjoyed telling jokes and pulling pranks. Dr. Pepper and a pack of nabs were his favorites.
Tom is survived by his brothers, Steven Jenkins of Kenly and Alan Jenkins and wife, Lisl of Wilson; nephews, Joey Jenkins of Black Creek, William Davis (Olivia) of Wilson, R. Thomas Davis of Kenly, and Joe Jenkins (Jennale) of Goldsboro; nieces, Belinda Davis and Kelleigh Davis of Wilson; lifelong friends, Curtis Lucas, Sr. (Donna) of Wilson and Tony Gordon of Wilson; friend, Kristina Mcdougle of Lucama; and daughter, Crystal Gowen (Cameron) of Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Jarvis Jenkins; mother, Rose Sugg Lane; sisters, Belinda Rose Jenkins, Vickie Louise Davis and Mary Frances Jenkins; brother, Joseph Jarvis Jenkins, Jr.
The family is planning a memorial balloon release at Toisnot Park in Wilson, NC on the bridge Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 6:00 pm.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the exemplary care received through Gentiva Hospice of Wilson and the Wilson House.
